CLAY 4 DA KIDDOS
HYBRID CLAY CLASSES
(POTTERY WHEEL + HANDBUILDING)
In these hybrid classes we mesh two methods of clay practices into a one hour (ish) clay course for children to explore the magic of both worlds. Technical and abstract. for the majority of the first portion, kids will be introduced to the power of the pottery wheel through an instructional demonstration and self practice. Once we have wheel thrown one or two pieces, we’ll let our creativity run wild and decorate our pots with some hand building techniques.

multi-media self portraits

Kiddos will design and illustrate a self portrait using air-dry clay & other art supplies to show their most creative physical expression. We will get to play with texture, carving, slab building, crafty mediums, and color theory.
For these air dry projects, family’s get to take the pieces the same day of!
pinch pot mystic mugs

2:00pm to 3:00pm
Kiddos will create a functional mug while we go over pinch pot techniques to create abstract creatures. We will get to play with texture, carving, and surrealism. Once they finish designing their mug, students will have choice to paint themselves or pick out a fancy glaze for the EPIC Clay team to apply and surprise them with at pickup time!
